Tuskegee Drops 21 on Hornets

Feb. 8, 2006

Final Stats

TUSKEGEE, Ala. - The school of thought when playing your biggest rivals is to always expect the unexpected.

That was the case Wednesday for Alabama State (0-3) as the Hornets fell to Division II Tuskegee 21-4.

After Tuskegee (1-4) scored four runs in the bottom of the first, ASU responded with its only offensive outburst. Three consecutive doubles by Cory Dauenheimer, Selmon Pearson and Travis Johnson plated two runs. Johnson would score on a Tuskegee error that cut the Bama State deficit to 4-3.

However, Tuskegee answered with four more runs in the bottom of the second, three in the bottom of third, and never looked back en route to its first victory of the season.

In his first start of the year, JaMarlon Ford (0-1) gave up seven earned runs in two innings and took the loss for ASU.
